Error uninstalling

Nov 12, 2010 at 4:43 PM

I'm attempting to uninstall the SPVisualDev Add In for Visual Studio 2010 (v2.2.0d) from a Win 7 x64 machine (Visual Studio 2010 Premium).

I'm using msiexec /uninstall from an elevated command prompt.

The uninstall gives the following error :
"Error 1001. An exception occurred while uninstalling. This exception will be ignored and the uninstall will continue. However, the application might not be fully uninstalled after the uninstall is complete. --> The specified service does not exist as an installed service"

After I dismiss the error dialog, the uninstall rolls back and exits and SPVisualDev is still installed.  If I open Visual Studio, the SPVisualDev project template is still there.

Which service is it looking for?  I'm guessing it's the SPVisualDev service (which I haven't installed)?  I thought that service was to be installed on the SharePoint server, not the dev machine?

I'm having the same problem here. It would be great to know something about it.
