TargetInvocationException

description

Sometimes, SPVisualDev fails and throws a TargetInvocationException when we try to do any feature actions.
 
Cause: If any of the app pool is turned off, this happens.
 
Solution: Either turn on or delete that app pool

After further investigation i discovered that the routine that does the IIS recycle recyles all appl pools no matter if they are used in SharePoint or not. It doesnt even check if they are stopped or invalid. This is considered a bug and should be fixed in the next release.

The method responsible for iis recycling is private void RecycleIISAppPools() found in class Connect.cs,
